Treating acacia wood
- 09 Feb, 2021
Of course you want to enjoy your furniture for as long as possible. Protecting your brand new table against stains and weather conditions is therefore very sensible. Acacia wood is a durable hardwood type characterized by the flame pattern, fine grain and varying color schemes. The wood has a red glow and will become even lighter and warmer in color over time. Since acacia wood is relatively more expensive than other hardwoods, good protection is important. How can you best protect acacia wood?
To extend the life of acacia wood furniture, we recommend impregnating the wood with the Marine Care 202. This is a special nano impregnation that protects untreated hardwood against dirt, stains and weather conditions. The nano coating provides a transparent protective layer with a dirt, oil and water-repellent effect. The nano coating therefore penetrates deep into the wood without discolouring it. The coating also contains a UV filter, the furniture is protected against discoloration by the sun. This way you can maintain the original appearance of the wood for a long time. Ideal with acacia wood because this type of wood quickly acquires a lighter, warm appearance due to the sun.
The advantages of using the nano products are:
Long-term protection, up to 2 years
Easy to apply and maintain
Optimal long-lasting deep shine
100% safe for all materials
- Human and environmentally friendly
With new untreated wood, we always recommend to clean the wood thoroughly before applying the nano coating. The Marine Clean 201 ensures that the wood fibers open and that the oil layer is removed. New furniture often has an oil layer on the wood. It is important to remove these properly because otherwise the coating will not adhere properly. After cleaning the wood, the nano impregnation can get deep into the wood and so you get the best result. The product is also extremely suitable for wood that has been outside for some time. Over time, wood gets dirty. Algae and dirt hit the wood and turn it brown or green. The Marine Clean 201 effectively removes the gray and dirty layer of the wood. Wood simply regains its original appearance and the beautiful original color reappears.
